The Peoples Democratic Party has fixed Wednesday, December 10, 2025, for the formal presentation of the Certificate of Return to its Ekiti State governorship candidate, Dr Oluwole Oluyede. The event will take place at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja at 2pm.
The announcement was made in a statement released on Monday by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Ini Enemobong, who said the presentation follows the completion and ratification of the party’s governorship primary election in Ekiti State. The primary was held from November 8 into the early hours of November 9, during which Oluyede polled 279 votes to win the ticket ahead of two other aspirants.
Party leaders, members of the National Executive Committee, sitting and former PDP governors, lawmakers, Board of Trustees members, and other key stakeholders have been invited to attend the ceremony. The party noted that the event is part of its effort to strengthen internal unity and prepare its structures ahead of the June 20, 2026 governorship election in the state.
Oluyede, a medical professional, emerged as the party’s candidate after winning the contest against Funso Ayeni, who got 239 votes, and Funmilayo Ogun, who scored 17 votes.
