Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central Senatorial District has revealed that she has been contacted by individuals connected to the presidency with an offer to join the All Progressives Congress. She made this known during an interview on Mic On Podcast hosted by Seun Okinbaloye on Saturday.

The lawmaker said she has no plans to leave the Peoples Democratic Party, explaining that she is comfortable and settled within her current political platform. According to her, the approaches to change parties have come from different quarters, including colleagues in government, and have continued up to recent days.

Akpoti-Uduaghan recalled that she has faced similar pressure at different stages of her political journey, including suggestions that she should relocate her political ambition to another state after her marriage. She said such moments required personal resolve and strength, especially as a woman in politics.

She also explained that although she was once briefly associated with the APC at the early stage of her political career, she does not see any reason to return to the party. She added that she prefers to make independent decisions rather than follow political trends or respond to pressure.
The senator maintained that remaining in the PDP gives her peace and stability, stressing that she is satisfied with her current position and has no intention of switching parties despite ongoing persuasion.
