Wike Pledges Continued Support for Tinubu in Rivers State

Rivers State Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting President Bola Tinubu, recalling the efforts made during the 2023 presidential election when backing the candidate in Rivers State was challenging. Wike spoke during an end-of-year thanksgiving event held in Ochigba, Ahoada East Local Government Area, organized by former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chibudom Nwuche, in his hometown.
Wike explained that during the 2023 election, he and his supporters took bold steps to ensure Tinubu’s victory in the state despite political pressure and uncertainty. He told party stakeholders that their efforts at the time were recognized and credited with contributing to the President’s win in Rivers State. Wike added that those who only publicly supported the President after the election were not active during the crucial period leading up to the polls.
He urged party members to maintain their loyalty and continue supporting Tinubu, noting that the struggle to achieve political goals does not end after elections. Wike reminded the stakeholders that agreements made in politics must be upheld and warned against acting contrary to previous commitments.
The minister also addressed criticism directed at him, attributing it to his steadfast approach in following through with political agreements. He assured the audience that he and his supporters will continue to support Tinubu in Rivers State as they had in the past, while encouraging others to act consistently and responsibly in political matters.
Wike concluded by reaffirming his stance, stating that the support for the President will remain strong and that the efforts of those who acted courageously during difficult times will not be forgotten.
