Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has approved the formation of a seven-man committee to oversee preparations for the 2026 All Progressives Congress congresses in the state. The committee is to guide the process and work closely with party structures to ensure proper coordination.
Enobong Uwah was named Chairman of the committee, while Dr. Patrick Umoh will serve as Secretary. Other members are Frank Archibong, Nsentip Akpabio, Ubokutom Nyah, Uwem Okoko, and Owoidighe Ekpoattai. The governor addressed the members after their inauguration and urged them to consult widely and cooperate with the party to deliver a peaceful and successful exercise. He also called on party members to remain focused and loyal to the party’s values.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who attended the event, praised Governor Eno for bringing political stakeholders together and maintaining peace in the state. He noted that unity among leaders and supporters has helped sustain calm across Akwa Ibom, including during the festive period.
The Akwa Ibom APC Chairman, Stephen Ntukepo, expressed appreciation to the governor for his leadership and efforts to unite the state. He described the governor as a leader with strong concern for the people. Other party leaders and government officials present, including federal and state lawmakers, also commended Governor Eno for his leadership style and his working relationship with the Senate President.
