The national chairman of the ADC, Senator David Mark, inaugurated the committee and explained that the exercise is part of efforts to rebuild the party and improve its readiness for electoral contests. He said the process would help the party develop a reliable and credible membership database across all states.
The committee is chaired by Kashim Imam, with Dr Sekonte Davies serving as secretary. Mark explained that the team was set up by the party’s National Working Committee and will oversee membership revalidation, new registrations, grassroots mobilisation, and proper documentation of party members nationwide.
He also said the party plans to introduce new membership cards with security features designed for each state. Committee members were encouraged to carry out their duties with fairness and work closely with party leaders at the state and local government levels.
Speaking on behalf of the committee, Kashim Imam said the assignment marks a fresh phase for the ADC and is focused on building a party that is open to Nigerians from all backgrounds. He added that the committee has 30 days to complete its work and submit a report.
Imam said registration activities have already begun and will cover urban centres, rural areas, and hard-to-reach communities across the country as the party works to expand its membership base.
