Senator Ogoshi Onawo, who represents Nasarawa South, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with the decision taking immediate effect. The resignation was communicated in a letter dated January 10, 2026, addressed to the PDP chairman of Galadimawa Ward in Doma Local Government Area, Nasarawa State.
The senator explained that the decision was made for personal reasons after careful thought. In his letter, he thanked the party leadership, members, and supporters for the trust and support he received while serving under the PDP. He wished the party continued progress and success in its future endeavors.
Onawo did not reveal which political platform he plans to join next, though reports have previously linked him to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). His departure comes amid ongoing political movements and realignments in the state ahead of future elections.
