Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Saturday appointed Alhaji Mustapha Buhari Bakwana as his new Political Adviser in Kano, explaining that the decision was based on Bakwana’s long involvement in politics, steady backing of the government, and ability to support the administration’s agenda.
The announcement was made at the Government House in Kano during an event where the governor presented motorcycles to his social media aides and journalists who work with the state government. The governor said Bakwana’s experience and loyalty made him suitable for the role at this time, adding that the new adviser is expected to assist in shaping government policies and improving political relations across the state.
Governor Yusuf also stated that Bakwana would help strengthen communication between the government and political stakeholders, while contributing to better understanding of government actions among residents. He noted that political engagement remains important for the stability and progress of the administration.
At the same event, the governor praised journalists and online influencers for supporting the government through information sharing, describing them as partners in keeping the public informed about activities and programmes in Kano State.
Bakwana replaces Sunusi Surajo Kwankwaso, who previously served as Political Adviser and is known to be close to former Kano State Governor and NNPP leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
