Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, son of former presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso, has resigned from his role as Kano State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development. He also stepped down as a member of the State Executive Council.
The resignation was shared through Mustapha’s official social media account on Monday. In his announcement, he thanked Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for giving him the opportunity to serve in the state government and noted that his time in office offered valuable experiences and lessons.
Mustapha expressed hope that the youth and sports sectors would continue to receive support and development under the current administration. He encouraged ongoing investment in youth empowerment and sports programs to ensure continued progress.
The decision comes amid political shifts in Kano State following Governor Yusuf’s departure from the New Nigeria Peoples Party. Observers say the resignation reflects broader realignments within the state government as political loyalties change and new strategies take shape.
