The All Progressives Congress has denied reports suggesting that notorious bandit leader Bello Turji is a registered member of the party, urging Nigerians to ignore a viral membership slip circulating on social media.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the document claiming that Mohammed Bello Turji registered during the ongoing APC electronic registration and validation exercise is false. He explained that the slip has no connection to the party’s official membership records or database.
According to the APC, checks carried out on the details displayed on the slip showed clear inconsistencies. The party noted that the document listed a Ward 13 in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, even though the local government has only 10 wards. It also stated that other details on the slip do not exist in its records.
The party described the document as a deliberate attempt by unknown individuals to mislead the public and create confusion. It added that the action was carried out by people with questionable motives who are trying to damage the image of the party.
The APC called on its members and the general public to completely disregard the document, stressing that Bello Turji has no link to the party and was never registered as a member under any process or platform.
