Tinubu names APC governors party leaders in states

President Bola Tinubu has stated that governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress are the recognised leaders of the party in their respective states. He made this known during the official reception held in Jalingo to welcome Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, into the APC.
The president spoke through Vice President Kashim Shettima at the event, where he explained that by joining the APC, Governor Kefas automatically became the party’s leader in Taraba State. Tinubu said the party structure in each state is anchored by the sitting APC governor, who is expected to guide party activities and maintain unity.
Tinubu assured the people of Taraba State that the Federal Government would support the governor and his team in delivering development across the state. He noted that Kefas had shown commitment to peace and unity by working to bring together the different ethnic and religious groups in the state.
The president also called on residents of Taraba State to give full support to the governor to enable him to succeed in office. He added that the APC was pleased to gain another governor from the North-East region and expressed hope that more states in the zone would align with the party at the centre.
The declaration further reinforces the APC’s position on party leadership at the state level, especially following recent defections and realignments within the country’s political space.
