Abuja’s Jabi Lake Set for Major Recreation Development

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has entered into agreements with Suburban Broadband Limited and Akida Hills Limited to develop Jabi Lake into a major recreational hub in Abuja.

The deals aim to transform the area into a vibrant destination for residents and tourists alike.

The agreements were signed during a brief ceremony at the FCT Minister’s conference room. The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, said Abuja has the potential to be a leading city for recreation but noted that land speculation has slowed development in some areas.

He instructed that any allocated land must be developed within six months, warning that failure to do so would lead to revocation of the land.

Representatives of both companies expressed optimism about the project. Suburban Broadband Limited described the agreement as a milestone for their organization, pointing out that the development will create jobs and stimulate economic growth within the FCT.

Akida Hills Limited said the project is an exciting venture and compared its vision to internationally recognized landmarks such as Times Square in New York and the Dubai Fountain.

They assured that the development would be completed before the end of the year and would place Abuja among cities with world-class recreational facilities.

The project is expected to include entertainment, leisure, and tourism facilities, aiming to make Jabi Lake a central hub for social and cultural activities in the nation’s capital.

The development also aligns with broader efforts by the FCTA to modernize the city and improve urban living standards for residents.
