ADC Names Fabiyi as Deputy Financial Secretary

The African Democratic Congress on Wednesday announced the appointment of Oladimeji Fabiyi as its Deputy National Financial Secretary ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The decision was reached after his nomination by the party’s South-West Zonal caucus during a meeting held in Ibadan.

The party also confirmed the ratification of several other nominees at the same Ibadan South-West gathering. Among them are Akinbowale Omole as National Vice Chairman for the South-West, Capt.

Tunji Shelle as National Director of Communication and Programmes, and Alhaja Kafilat Olayiwola as Deputy National Woman Leader.

In addition, the party approved the nominations of Arc. Bashir Lawal as Assistant National Secretary for Diversity and Inclusion, Prof. Bode Ayorinde as Assistant National Organising Secretary, and Mrs. Yidiat Oseni as Deputy Coordinator for the Diaspora.

Others whose nominations were endorsed include Olufemi Adeleye and Lady Lydia Olufunmiloye as Assistant National Woman Leader.

During the inauguration ceremony, the National Secretary of the ADC and former Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, addressed the newly appointed officials.

He urged them to focus on strengthening the party and working toward its growth across the country.

He stated that the ADC is positioning itself as an alternative platform ahead of future elections and called on the executives to remain committed to their responsibilities.

According to him, the party intends to expand its presence and attract wider support as political activities gather pace toward 2027.

The announcement forms part of the ADC’s efforts to reorganise and prepare its structure at the national level as it seeks to play a stronger role in Nigeria’s political space.
