Former Yobe Commissioner Dumburi Dies at 70

Alhaji Musa Maina Dumburi, a former Commissioner for Agriculture and later Commissioner for Environment in Yobe State, has died at the age of 70.

He passed away recently, and news of his death was confirmed on Saturday by the Senator representing Yobe East, Musa Mustapha. Dumburi hailed from Bursari Local Government Area of the state.

The senator announced the development in a message shared on his Facebook page, where he expressed sadness over the loss. He described the late Dumburi as a dedicated public servant who contributed to the growth of Yobe State, especially in the agricultural sector.

Dumburi served as Commissioner for Agriculture during the administration of former Governor Ibrahim Geidam. During his time in office, he was known for his work in supporting farming activities and policies aimed at improving food production in the state.

He also held the position of Commissioner for Environment at another time in his career.

According to the senator, Dumburi remained active and committed to the progress of Yobe even in his later years. He was regarded as an experienced professional in agriculture and someone who played different roles connected to farming development in the state.

Mustapha extended condolences to the family, friends, and associates of the deceased, as well as to the people of Yobe State. He prayed for mercy and forgiveness for the late former commissioner.

Dumburi’s passing marks the end of a long career in public service in Yobe State, where he was involved in efforts to strengthen agriculture and environmental management.
