The congresses took place in various locations across the state, including Kauran Gwandu Primary School and Justice Ibrahim Umar Primary School in Birnin Kebbi.

The governor was joined by key party figures such as the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu; Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero; the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Muhammad Argungu; and the state party chairman, Abubakar Kana-Zuru.

Party officials said the exercise was carried out in line with internal guidelines and involved consultations with stakeholders before the adoption of consensus candidates.

The chairman of the ward congress committee, Abdulmalik Mahmood, stated that the process followed the party’s constitution.

Governor Idris said his administration would cooperate with the new ward leaders to promote party programmes and support government policies at the grassroots level. He expressed confidence that the fresh executives would strengthen the party’s structure across the state.

The ward congresses were held on the same day the Ramadan fast began, with party members participating in the process across the 225 wards in Kebbi State.
