The decision was announced in a statement issued by the APC caucus in Abia. The party explained that the earlier suspension was necessary to address disputes within the state chapter.

According to the caucus, discussions were held among stakeholders, and unity has now been restored, paving the way for the continuation of the congress process.

The statement added that the timetable for the state congress remains unchanged. The exercise at the state level is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

Party officials expressed readiness to proceed with the congresses peacefully, noting that efforts have been made to ensure cooperation among members.

The leadership maintained that resolving internal issues was important to avoid tension during the selection of party executives.

Meanwhile, political discussions in the state have included speculation that Governor Alex Otti may join the APC ahead of the next election cycle as he prepares for a possible second term bid.

However, his media aides, Ferdinand Ekeoma and Dodoh Okafor, have dismissed such claims and insisted that there is no plan for him to defect.

With the new dates fixed, the Abia APC is moving forward with its internal reorganisation as part of preparations for future political activities in the state.
