Sule Plans Senate Bid in 2027
Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has revealed that he will run for the Nasarawa North senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections. He made this known during a Sallah visit by members of the State Executive Council at his residence in Gudi, located in Akwanga Local Government Area.
The governor said the decision followed repeated calls from traditional rulers and political stakeholders in Nasarawa North who urged him to represent them in the Senate. He explained that he chose to accept their request so it would not appear that he was ignoring their appeals.
Sule stated that he had initially planned to support another candidate for the position. However, he later changed his position after the same individual joined others in asking him to contest the seat.
The governor is currently serving his second term in office, having first been elected in 2019, and is expected to complete his tenure in 2027. His planned move to the Senate marks the next step in his political career as he prepares for life after his governorship.
