A High Court sitting in the Federal Capital Territory has ordered the arrest of Kabiru Turaki after he did not show up for a scheduled hearing in a case brought against him by the police.

The order was given by Justice U.P. Kekemeke, who ruled that there was no valid reason for Turaki’s absence in court. The judge directed that he should be taken into custody to answer to the charge filed against him.

The case was initiated by the Inspector-General of Police, who accused Turaki of giving false information in a petition submitted in October 2022. The charge against him is based on a single count linked to that allegation.
