Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is the only party capable of governing Kano State effectively and winning the 2027 national elections.
The governor spoke to large crowds of supporters who gathered along the streets of Kano as he returned from APC-related activities in Abuja. He dismissed the chances of other political parties, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC), saying no party can match the APC’s strength in the state or across the country.
Yusuf also addressed claims that he would serve only one term, explaining that his first term was with the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and that he plans his second term under the APC. He reaffirmed his loyalty to President Bola Tinubu and pledged that Kano State will support Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
The governor highlighted ongoing efforts in his administration to improve key sectors, including education, health, infrastructure, agriculture, and youth programs. He encouraged citizens to register to vote with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to participate in the upcoming elections.
Kano State APC Chairman Umar Doguwa described the turnout at the governor’s reception as a clear sign of public support for his continuation in office.
Yusuf’s convoy reportedly took hours to move from Malam Aminu Kano International Airport to the Government House due to the large number of people lining the route.
