Accord fixes N15m governorship form fee for 2027

On Friday in Lagos, the Accord Party announced the cost of nomination forms for aspirants preparing for the 2027 general elections and set a deadline for its internal process. The party, through its Lagos State Chairman, Dele Oladeji, said the decisions followed a National Executive Council meeting held earlier in Abuja.

The party fixed the total cost for governorship aspirants at N15 million, covering both nomination and expression of interest forms. It also released fees for other positions, with Senate aspirants expected to pay N7.5 million in total, while those contesting for the House of Representatives will pay N5 million. Aspirants for state Houses of Assembly are to pay N1.5 million.

Oladeji explained that the meeting concluded key preparations ahead of the elections, including setting fees, deciding dates for primaries, and choosing how candidates would emerge. He added that the party had opened its electoral window but warned that it would close on April 25.

He noted that membership registration and the purchase of nomination forms would end shortly after, on April 26.
The party also announced that its primary elections are scheduled to begin on May 21 as part of its early preparations for the 2027 polls.

In addition, Oladeji called on residents of Lagos who are interested in contesting elections or seeking a change in leadership to join the party. He said the party aims to bring new leadership and improve governance across the state through reforms in key sectors.

The announcement forms part of the party’s efforts to position itself ahead of the next general elections by putting structures and timelines in place early.
