ADC rejects Atiku and others suspension claim

The African Democratic Congress has reacted to reports involving Atiku Abubakar and Babachir Lawal. The party dismissed claims that both men were suspended by a faction within its Adamawa State chapter. The response came shortly after the suspension claim surfaced and gained attention. The party said the action was taken by individuals who do not have the authority to make such decisions. A factional figure, Raji Zumo, had announced the suspension, citing internal issues and alleged disregard for a court directive.

The claim quickly caused reactions within the party, with members questioning its validity and the process behind it. In response, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, stated that the announcement does not stand and should be ignored.

He explained that the individuals behind the move lack the power to suspend members at that level, adding that such decisions must come from the recognised leadership structure of the party.

The party maintained that the development does not reflect its official position and urged the public and its supporters not to take the claim seriously.

The situation adds to ongoing internal disagreements within the party, as different groups continue to make conflicting moves and statements.
