The meeting ended with the legislators reaffirming their backing for Wadada, saying they were aligned with Governor Sule’s choice.

Speaking after the meeting, Speaker of the House Danladi Jatau said the lawmakers remained united and committed to supporting the governor’s decision on succession. He said the caucus agreed to stand by the governor’s political direction and work toward keeping the party united.

The lawmakers also praised the relationship between the executive and legislative arms in the state, saying the cooperation has contributed to peace and development. They credited Governor Sule’s administration for maintaining stability and said that same spirit of cooperation should continue as the state approaches another election season.

According to the lawmakers, their support for Wadada was not a new position, as they had earlier agreed during consultations with governorship aspirants to support whoever the governor endorsed. They said that decision still stands and that they are fully committed to working for Wadada’s emergence.

The Speaker also called on other aspirants within the party to accept the development and join efforts to strengthen the APC ahead of the 2027 polls. He urged party members across the state to focus on unity and mobilisation to improve the party’s chances in the coming election.
