2027: Akwa Ibom Will Deliver Highest South-South Votes for Tinubu — Akpabio

Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Monday said Akwa Ibom State would deliver the highest number of votes for President Bola Tinubu in the South-South region during the 2027 presidential election.

He made the declaration in Uyo during a meeting between Governor Umo Eno and major stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the governor’s second-term bid.

The gathering took place at the Akwa Ibom State Government House, where Governor Eno met with party leaders and members to seek support for his planned return to office in 2027. During the event, Akpabio praised the governor’s leadership style and described him as a peaceful and accommodating leader who has maintained unity within the state.

The Senate President said the governor’s relationship with party members and residents had created confidence within the APC in Akwa Ibom. According to him, the governor’s approach to governance and politics has strengthened support for both the state government and the ruling party ahead of future elections.

Akpabio also pointed to ongoing projects across the state, saying the administration had continued to start and complete development works for the benefit of residents. He noted that abandoned projects were also being revived and completed under the present government.

He further commended the recent start of international flight operations at the Victor Attah International Airport, describing it as another step forward for the state’s development and economy.

The Senate President also stated that Akwa Ibom people remained grateful to President Tinubu for supporting the emergence of an indigene of the state as President of the Senate. He said the state would repay that support with strong backing for the president during the next election.

Governor Eno’s consultation with APC leaders is part of ongoing political moves ahead of the 2027 elections as political parties and aspirants continue to strengthen alliances and prepare their structures across the country.
