Former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege has maintained that he emerged victorious in the NDC senatorial primary election for Delta Central, dismissing reports that he was defeated in the contest.

Speaking during a television interview, the former lawmaker described claims of his defeat as false and said there was no disagreement over the outcome of the primary election. According to him, the results from the exercise clearly showed that he won in all eight local government areas that make up the Delta Central Senatorial District.

Omo-Agege said he was fully confident that the party would eventually confirm his victory once the internal processes were completed. He explained that although he and his supporters already have access to the results, they have chosen not to make them public because the party directed all aspirants to wait for the official announcement.

He noted that the NDC leadership had instructed candidates to allow the party handle the release of results after the necessary review and ratification procedures. As a result, he said he would continue to respect the party’s decision despite his confidence in the outcome.
The former senator also revealed that the party’s National Executive Committee was expected to meet to ratify the results of the recently concluded primaries. According to him, the meeting would provide the platform for the formal approval of candidates who emerged from the exercise across different positions.
Omo-Agege, who recently joined the NDC, said there was no dispute regarding the Delta Central senatorial ticket and expressed certainty that the party would officially declare him as its candidate once the ratification process is concluded.
His comments come at a time when questions have continued to surround the delay in the announcement of results from the NDC primaries. While some aspirants and supporters have raised concerns over the prolonged wait, Omo-Agege insisted that in his own case, the outcome was clear and beyond dispute.
The delay in releasing the final list of candidates has generated discussions within the party, with many members awaiting the official position of the leadership. However, Omo-Agege remains convinced that the process will eventually confirm what he described as a decisive victory in the Delta Central senatorial primary.
