PRP Alleges Kwankwaso Seized 69 Party Forms

Speaking to journalists, Kano State PRP Chairman Abdulkadir Musa Guza said the controversy came to light after he attended a party retreat in Kaduna and attempted to collect nomination forms for party members seeking different elective positions in Kano. He explained that several aspirants had already paid for the forms, but he was informed that all available forms had already been purchased.

Guza said he sought clarification from the party’s national leadership and was allegedly told that Kwankwaso had obtained the forms as discussions were ongoing regarding his possible entry into the PRP. He noted that the development raised concerns after several days passed without any official announcement of Kwankwaso joining the party.

The PRP chairman said the situation has created confusion among many party members who had planned to contest elections under the party’s platform. According to him, aspirants who expected to receive nomination forms are now uncertain about their chances of participating in the electoral process.

He said the party is struggling to understand the purpose behind the alleged action and warned that legal steps could be taken if the forms are not returned before the Independent National Electoral Commission closes the window for the submission of candidates’ names.

Guza further claimed that the issue is not affecting only the PRP, alleging that other political parties are also facing similar challenges involving political actors seeking advantages ahead of the 2027 elections.

The party leadership said it remains concerned about the impact of the development on its preparations for the elections and is seeking a resolution that will allow its aspirants to participate without further delays.

As of the time of the briefing, there was no official response from Kwankwaso regarding the allegation. The controversy adds another layer to the growing political activities and realignments taking place ahead of the 2027 general elections.
