Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has declared that his administration will work towards securing victory for President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2027 general elections. The governor made the declaration on Saturday during an interactive meeting with elected and appointed government officials at the Coronation Hall of the Government House in Kano.
According to a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Yusuf said the state would mobilise widespread support for the President’s second-term bid and ensure the APC records success across all elective positions in the next general election.
The governor said every elected and appointed official in his administration must play an active role in strengthening the APC ahead of the polls. He directed political appointees who have not yet registered as members of the ruling party to do so without delay, saying government officials should identify with the party and help expand its structures across the state.
Yusuf said the administration’s responsibility goes beyond governance, adding that building a stronger grassroots structure for the APC remains a priority before the 2027 elections. He stated that the government is determined to secure victories in the presidential, governorship, National Assembly, State Assembly and local government elections.
As part of efforts to encourage political office holders, the governor approved the allocation of plots of land to more than 300 political aides. The beneficiaries include Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, Senior Special Reporters, Special Reporters and Personal Assistants. He also approved the payment of ₦100,000 to each beneficiary.
The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Ismail Falgore, also addressed the gathering. He said the party would continue to present the achievements of President Tinubu to the people of Kano while also drawing attention to constituency projects carried out with the support of the state government.
The APC Chairman in Kano State, Umar Haruna Doguwa, said the party had already begun preparations for the 2027 elections. He stated that the APC was ready for the political contest ahead and expressed confidence that the party would emerge victorious.
The statement added that elected and appointed officials who attended the meeting passed a vote of confidence on President Tinubu and Governor Yusuf. They also pledged to strengthen grassroots mobilisation across the state to improve the APC’s chances in the 2027 general elections.
