2027: Votes for APC Means Terrorists Will Continue – Aisha Yesufu

Human rights activist Aisha Yesufu has appealed to Nigerians to reject the All Progressives Congress in the 2027 general election, arguing that the country needs a different direction to address its growing security problems.

Yesufu, who previously contested for the Nigeria Democratic Congress senatorial ticket for the Federal Capital Territory, made her position known in a post shared on her verified X account on Sunday.

Her comments came as concerns continue over rising cases of insecurity across different parts of the country, with reports of killings, kidnappings and other violent attacks affecting many communities.

According to her, Nigerians should use the next election to make decisions that could influence the country’s future. She argued that supporting the APC in the coming polls would allow the current security situation to continue.

The activist also encouraged every Nigerian who is at least 18 years old to obtain a Permanent Voter Card ahead of the election. She said active participation in the electoral process remains one of the most effective ways for citizens to influence leadership and governance.

Yesufu maintained that many people have continued to hope for positive changes in the country, adding that such expectations can only become reality when eligible voters participate fully in elections.

She urged Nigerians not to ignore the importance of their PVCs, saying the document gives citizens the opportunity to decide who leads the country and shape its future through the ballot.
