Governors serving their first term under the All Progressives Congress gathered in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, on Tuesday for a closed-door meeting to discuss issues affecting the country and the ruling party. The meeting took place at the Government House, where the governors are expected to review key political and governance matters.

The session brought together governors from several APC-controlled states, including Kaduna, Plateau, Ekiti, Delta, Zamfara, Kano, Jigawa, Ebonyi, Edo, Ondo, Kogi, Sokoto and Benue. Other first-term governors on the party’s platform were also present for the discussions.

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris welcomed his colleagues to the Government House alongside the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, who was also on hand to receive the visiting governors.

Information available before the meeting indicated that the governors planned to examine issues affecting the APC and the country. They were also expected to discuss ways to improve cooperation among state governments, support the party’s programmes and explore measures that could improve governance, boost economic growth and strengthen national unity.
The gathering is also expected to review matters affecting the administration of APC-controlled states as the governors continue implementing their development plans in their respective states.
At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum is expected to brief journalists on the resolutions reached during the closed-door session.
