Rabiu Kwankwaso, the vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has said the United States government is now more concerned about the possibility of another Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general election than the allegations previously linked to him.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Kwankwaso said the issues once associated with his name had been resolved, adding that he now has a clean slate in the United States. He claimed that attempts by his opponents to damage his reputation had failed because the truth had become clear.

Kwankwaso said the focus has now shifted to the prospect of another Muslim-Muslim ticket in the 2027 election. He added that people who know him understand that the allegations against him were unfounded and insisted that the issue no longer exists.

According to him, discussions about the religious composition of the next presidential ticket have now taken centre stage.
