Sowore unveils 2027 manifesto, proposes AI, blockchain to fight corruption

African Action Congress presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, on Friday unveiled part of his 2027 presidential manifesto, outlining how he plans to use artificial intelligence, blockchain technology and drones to improve governance, fight corruption and strengthen national security if elected president. He shared the proposals through separate posts on his verified X account.

Sowore said his administration would rely on modern technology to reduce corruption, improve transparency and make government operations more efficient. According to him, artificial intelligence would manage public finances by reducing human interference in financial decisions, while drones would improve security through better surveillance and quicker response to threats.

He explained that artificial intelligence would help monitor government finances using data-based systems capable of reducing waste, detecting irregularities and making financial management more transparent. He also said drones would support national defence by improving monitoring, accountability and rapid response during security operations.

The AAC presidential candidate also proposed the use of blockchain technology to strengthen public accountability. He said the technology would keep a permanent digital record of government transactions, budget allocations, contracts and spending, making such records available for public inspection and difficult to alter.

Sowore added that artificial intelligence would continuously examine government activities, detect suspicious financial transactions, identify procurement irregularities and expose possible fraud before public funds are lost. He said combining both technologies would make corrupt practices easier to detect and more difficult to carry out.

He further stated that introducing artificial intelligence into public finance management would reduce dependence on large government bureaucracies, excessive administrative costs and outdated record-keeping methods. According to him, this would create a faster, more transparent and more accountable system of governance.

The former presidential candidate maintained that technology-driven governance remains a major part of his 2027 campaign agenda. He said his goal is to use digital innovation and institutional reforms to improve public service delivery and raise the quality of life for Nigerians.
