The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has called on eligible Nigerians to complete their voter registration before the Continuous Voter Registration, CVR, exercise ends on Sunday, July 26, 2026. The commission made the appeal on Saturday, reminding citizens that the registration period is almost over as preparations continue for the 2027 general elections.

In a public notice shared on its official X account, INEC urged prospective voters not to delay the process. The commission said eligible Nigerians can complete their registration online through its dedicated CVR portal or visit any approved registration centre across the country for physical assistance.

The electoral body also advised those who need help with the registration process to visit any of its state offices, local government offices, or designated registration centres before the deadline.

According to INEC, all registration centres will continue to operate daily, including weekends, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. until the exercise officially closes on Sunday.
The commission explained that the CVR exercise is part of its preparations for the 2027 general elections.
It added that the exercise allows Nigerians who have reached voting age, as well as those seeking to update or transfer their voter information, to be included in the national register of voters before the election period begins.
