Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has declared that the August 15 governorship election cannot be manipulated, expressing confidence that the people of the state will freely choose their next governor. He made the statement on Sunday while addressing supporters at a campaign rally in Oke-Ila, Ifedayo Local Government Area.
Speaking during the event, Adeleke said every lawful vote cast in the election would count. He urged residents to participate in the poll and remain committed to protecting the outcome through peaceful and lawful means.
The governor dismissed claims that any individual or group could alter the election result, insisting that the people of Osun would not allow their votes to be taken away. He said the state has a strong democratic tradition and that residents are determined to ensure the outcome reflects the will of the electorate.
A statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, said Adeleke encouraged supporters to remain united and focused ahead of the election. He expressed confidence that voters would stand by their choices and ensure that the electoral process remains credible.
Adeleke also said the people of Osun are prepared to participate actively in the election without fear. According to him, residents are determined to cast their votes and ensure that the final result truly reflects their decision at the polls.
The governor further stated that his administration’s performance in office would play a major role in the election. He maintained that the projects and programmes carried out by his government have given the electorate enough reasons to support his bid for another term.
With the governorship election drawing closer, political activities have continued across the state as parties intensify campaigns and seek support from voters before the August 15 poll.
