At the meeting, an eight-member committee led by APC chieftain, Chief Alaba Abejide, was formed to coordinate the party’s ward, local government and state congresses scheduled for September.

The governor said the congresses would play an important role in preparing the party for the December local government elections and the 2027 general elections.

He expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to organise the process effectively and urged party members to support its work.

Oyebanji called for greater unity and inclusion within the APC, saying a strong grassroots structure would help the party remain competitive in future elections.

He also praised APC members and leaders for their efforts during the June 20 governorship election, which resulted in his re-election.

The governor said the party must build on that success and ensure that its structures remain strong enough to produce another APC governor when his tenure ends in 2030.

He further urged party stakeholders to give full support to Tinubu, noting that the President had supported the state and the party

The APC State Chairman, Sola Elesin, congratulated Oyebanji on his re-election and commended party members for their role in the victory.

Elesin urged the party to maintain its efforts to mobilise voters ahead of the next elections, particularly the 2027 presidential poll.

Former governor Segun Oni also called on APC stakeholders to review their strategies and strengthen their grassroots mobilisation.

He said the party should work towards increasing voter participation by engaging communities and ensuring that its supporters are prepared to take part in the elections.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Governor Monisade Afuye, Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly Adeoye Aribasoye, Secretary to the State Government Habibat Adubiaro, Chief of Staff Niyi Adebayo and other APC leaders and stakeholders across the state.

The party is expected to continue its consultations and preparations ahead of the September congresses and subsequent elections.
