Wike made this known during a media interaction in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he also defended the performance of the Tinubu administration in the Federal Capital Territory.

The minister said the government would ensure that ongoing projects initiated under Tinubu are delivered before the administration leaves office. He also challenged those criticising the government’s record in Abuja to compare its performance with that of previous administrations.

According to Wike, the scale of development recorded in the FCT under Tinubu is greater than what Abuja has experienced under previous governments.

He said the projects being executed across the capital were part of efforts to improve infrastructure and address the needs of residents.

Wike also spoke about the recent Nigerian Bar Association conference, which he described as disappointing. He accused the leadership of the NBA of allowing political issues to take attention away from matters concerning the legal profession.

The minister questioned the direction of the association and raised concerns about the decisions taken by its current leadership.

Wike also revisited his opposition to the emergence of the current NBA president, saying he had previously explained his reasons for not supporting her.

He particularly questioned the decision to invite a former governor to the NBA event, referring to the former governor’s administration and its handling of the judiciary in Rivers State.

According to Wike, the decision raised questions about the kind of legacy the current NBA leadership wants to leave behind.

The minister compared the situation with his own responsibilities as FCT minister, saying public officials should be able to point to clear achievements at the end of their time in office.

Wike maintained that his focus as FCT minister remained on completing projects and improving infrastructure in Abuja before the expiration of the Tinubu administration.

He said the government would continue with ongoing developments in the capital and ensure that projects already started are delivered within the remaining period of the administration.
