2027: Peter Obi Dares Critics to Prove He Collected Money in US

Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has challenged anyone claiming that he is collecting money from Nigerians in the diaspora to fund his 2027 presidential campaign to provide evidence.

Obi made the statement during his ongoing visit to the United States, where he rejected allegations that his trip was aimed at raising funds for his campaign.

The former Anambra State governor said he was prepared to stop his 2027 presidential campaign if anyone could produce evidence showing that he had received money from a Nigerian living in the United States.

He explained that he was financing his activities with his personal resources and paying his expenses himself.

Obi said his trip abroad was part of his efforts to engage with people and pursue what he believes is the right direction for the country, rather than an attempt to raise campaign funds.

The NDC candidate also challenged his critics to identify anyone in the United States who had given him money for his political campaign.

The controversy comes as politicians and supporters of different political parties intensify activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
