The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State on Wednesday praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership as Nigeria celebrated its 65th Independence Anniversary. The party said Nigerians could not have wished for a more fitting leader at this stage of the country’s history.
In a statement issued in Lagos, the APC described Independence Day as a moment of pride for the country and an opportunity to look back on the past, review the present, and make plans for the future. The party said Tinubu has shown courage and vision in steering the nation through difficult times, adding that his leadership has become crucial as the country seeks to recover from years of poor governance and corruption.
The APC explained that Tinubu’s administration has taken bold steps, such as the removal of fuel subsidy, as well as reforms in agriculture, food security, infrastructure, and the economy. It noted that his plan for free technical education and stipends for Nigerian students reflects a focus on long-term prosperity rather than short-term populism.
The Lagos APC also stated that the President has distinguished himself from politicians who are only interested in personal gains and the sharing of national wealth. According to the party, Tinubu is leading with the determination to rebuild the nation and provide opportunities for all, while some members of the opposition are already preparing for 2027 with promises the people no longer trust.
As Nigeria celebrated 65 years of independence, the Lagos APC called on citizens to unite behind Tinubu and support his administration. The party said the journey to national renewal has begun and expressed confidence that with Tinubu in charge, Nigeria is on the path to reclaiming its position as the leading nation in Africa.
