The All Progressives Congress has changed the dates for its National Caucus and National Executive Committee meetings, which were earlier fixed for December 15 and 16, 2025. The party shifted the meetings to new dates after issuing a notice through its National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Basiru, who shared the update on his official page on Sunday.
The party now plans to hold the National Caucus meeting on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 6 p.m. The NEC meeting will follow on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 3 p.m. Both gatherings will take place at the Banquet Hall in the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The notice informed all members to attend based on the sections of the APC Constitution that guide the makeup of both bodies.
The National Caucus brings together leading members of the party, including the President, the Vice President, former presidents and vice presidents who came from the APC, serving and past governors, as well as zonal officials. The NEC consists of top party officials such as the National Chairman, deputies, secretary, treasurer, legal advisers, organising and publicity officers, women and youth leaders, state chairmen, zonal delegates, and others who were elected during the National Convention.
The shift in dates comes only a few days after the party first announced the earlier December 15–16 schedule, which would have marked the first large party meetings in more than a year. The party did not give any reason for the change. The notice simply informed members to take note of the updated dates as required by the party’s constitution.
