The party described these remarks as false and misleading, insisting that the Supreme Court’s decision was a legal interpretation, not a military directive.

APC officials explained that the court ruling did not suspend democracy in Rivers State but clarified the legal powers granted under the Nigerian Constitution. The party emphasized that judicial decisions in a constitutional democracy are binding on all and that the president has not exercised powers outside the law. They also stressed that military authority remains under civilian control as provided by the Constitution.
