The APC youths, operating under the ruling party in the council area, said they had agreed to support another aspirant, Bidemi Obayangban, who currently serves as Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Forestry. They made their position known in a statement circulated to the media, saying the decision followed consultations among youth groups in the area.

According to the youths, they believe the federal constituency needs new representation at the National Assembly. They said their choice of Obayangban was based on what they described as his visible involvement in community affairs and his relationship with young people across the local government.

The group, led by Adewale Adefua, stated that Obayangban’s activities and presence in the area convinced them that he would better represent their interests if elected. They added that the move was not driven by personal feelings but by a desire for a change in leadership.

Another youth leader in the area, Ajibade Omogunoye, also supported the position, saying the backing for Obayangban was based on his character and approach to public service. He explained that although Odimayo is from the same area and is seeking another term, the youths believe a new face would better address their needs.

The development shows growing political activity within the APC in Ondo State as preparations begin ahead of the 2027 general elections, with party members and interest groups already taking positions on who should represent them at the federal level.
