Abia State Governor Alex Otti has said he expects the 2027 election to be less challenging for him compared to past contests, noting that his work in office has laid a strong foundation for public support.
The governor spoke during the 2025 Aro Day event held in Arochukwu Local Government Area, where he addressed concerns about the next election cycle. He said he is not disturbed by discussions around 2027, stressing that his administration is focused on delivering results rather than making fresh promises.
Otti explained that unlike the 2023 election, when he had to rely largely on assurances to voters, he now has visible projects and reforms that people can see and judge for themselves. According to him, this puts his government in a better position ahead of the next polls.
He also expressed surprise that many people are already anxious about the 2027 elections, even though there is still time before the polls. He said his government remains committed to fulfilling its four-year mandate, noting that only 30 months have been spent so far.
The governor added that his confidence comes from the progress made since assuming office, stating that the administration still has more work ahead and remains focused on governance rather than political distractions.
