The Kogi State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Muhammed Sanni Gambo, has said the party is confident of defeating the ruling party in the 2027 governorship election. He spoke in Lokoja on Saturday after meeting with party members.
Gambo said many residents of the state are unhappy with the present administration and are beginning to look back at the period when the PDP was in power. According to him, several infrastructure projects across the state were carried out during the PDP’s time in government, and this record would count in the next election.
He told party supporters and the general public to remain calm and united, assuring them that the party’s return to power would bring relief and development to the state. He added that the PDP was preparing seriously and believed it would record a sweeping victory in 2027.
The Kogi PDP chairman’s comments came amid similar views expressed by other party leaders across the country. Recently, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde also suggested that the PDP could surprise many people in the 2027 general elections after holding talks with President Bola Tinubu in Abuja.
The PDP in Kogi State says it remains focused on rebuilding its strength and reconnecting with voters ahead of the next election cycle.
