Iyabo Obasanjo, daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, formally became a member of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State. The development happened on January 27, 2026, in Ibogun, Ward 11 of Ifo Local Government Area, where she completed her party registration through the APC’s electronic process.
The move was made known on Wednesday by a former chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government, Biodun Ajayi, who is also close to Iyabo. He explained that the registration process was successfully concluded a day earlier, confirming her entry into the ruling party.
According to the information provided, Iyabo carried out her e-registration within her ward in Ifo Local Government, making her officially recognised as a member of the APC in Ogun State. The process followed the party’s standard online registration method currently in use across the country.
Her decision to join the APC adds to recent political movements within the state and comes at a time when political activities are increasing ahead of future elections. Party members in the area have since acknowledged her registration, marking her formal inclusion in the party’s structure at the grassroots level.
