Former Jigawa State chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Ado Sani Kiri, has resigned from the party after years of involvement, formally notifying his ward leadership in a letter dated March 30, 2026. The decision was addressed to the ward chairman in Kiri and made public on Friday.

Kiri, who previously represented the Ringim/Taura Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives between 2019 and 2023, stated that his exit followed careful thought and marked his withdrawal from party activities. He also expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve and contribute to the growth and activities of the party during his time as a member.
