The All Progressives Congress has released a timetable for its 2026 ward, local government and state congresses in Zamfara State as part of preparations for internal party activities.
The schedule, issued through the office of the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, contains activities leading to the election of party executives at different levels across the state.
According to the plan, the process will include screening for aspirants seeking party offices, followed by ward congresses, local government congresses and the state congress where new executives are expected to emerge.
The party said the exercise is aimed at strengthening its structure in Zamfara and ensuring members take part in leadership selection through the party’s internal process. It also said the congresses are expected to support unity within the party while giving room for wider participation at the grassroots.
Party officials called on members and stakeholders to follow the timetable and guidelines set for the exercise to avoid disruptions and ensure the process runs smoothly.
The release of the schedule comes as political parties continue preparations for future electoral activities, with internal organisation and party leadership structures receiving increasing attention ahead of upcoming contests.
