2027: Fintiri picks senatorial form for Adamawa North

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has obtained a nomination form to contest for the Adamawa North senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 general elections. The form was presented to him on Saturday in Mubi by his supporters, who acquired it on his behalf during a gathering attended by stakeholders from the northern part of the state.

Fintiri, who is from Madagali Local Government Area, is preparing to move to the National Assembly after completing his second term as governor in 2027. The Adamawa North Senatorial District he seeks to represent includes Madagali, Mubi North, Mubi South, Maiha and Michika local government areas.

During the event, the governor made it known that he is ready to contest for the ticket of the All Progressives Congress for the senatorial race. His declaration signals the start of political activities in the area as parties begin to position candidates ahead of the next election cycle.

Speaking on the situation in the northern zone of the state, which has faced attacks linked to insurgency, Fintiri said efforts to rebuild affected communities and restore normal life would continue. He added that cooperation among stakeholders would remain important in maintaining peace and stability in the region.


Also at the event, a member of the House of Representatives representing Song/Fufore Federal Constituency, Wakili Boya, spoke on the governor’s leadership record, stating that his experience in office positions him for a role at the national level.


With the form secured, attention is now on the party’s internal process and how the race for the Adamawa North senatorial seat will develop as the 2027 elections draw closer.
