The event came days after Obi and Dickson attended a political meeting at the Abuja residence of former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Political talks around the convention have continued to grow following reports that Obi and Kwankwaso may work together under the NDC platform during the next presidential election.

The two politicians recently left the African Democratic Congress, ADC, and joined the NDC, a move that has drawn attention within the opposition camp.

Party members at the gathering were also expected to discuss internal matters, leadership plans and strategies ahead of future elections as the NDC continues efforts to strengthen its presence across the country.
