Tinubu’s daughter rejects Lagos APC primaries, threatens protest

Tinubu-Ojo faulted the results announced for Mushin Federal Constituency 2, Agege Constituency 2 and Ojokoro constituencies, insisting that the candidates she believed won should not be replaced or denied their victories.

The Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress had earlier released the names of candidates who emerged from the House of Representatives and State House of Assembly primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to the list signed by the state APC chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, 24 candidates secured House of Representatives tickets while 40 candidates emerged for the Lagos State House of Assembly elections.

Following the release of the results, Tinubu-Ojo called on the leadership of the party at both state and national levels to quickly look into complaints surrounding the exercise before the final approval of the results.

She warned that unresolved disputes could worsen tensions within the party and affect unity ahead of the 2027 elections.
Tinubu-Ojo specifically mentioned Seye Oladejo, Mutiu Olaide Oladeebo and Olotu Ojo as candidates whose victories, according to her, should not be altered.

She also accused party members of using internal factions such as the Justice Forum and Mandate Group to influence political decisions within the APC in Lagos.

According to her, many politicians were moving toward the Justice Forum because they believed it was connected to the political structure of Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, who is believed to have governorship ambitions.

Tinubu-Ojo expressed concern over what she described as growing division within the ruling party, warning that such developments could weaken party unity if not addressed quickly.

She further stated that politics should not make loyal party members feel abandoned after years of hard work and commitment.

The Iyaloja-General also restated the support of market women in Lagos for Obafemi Hamzat and other APC candidates, while calling for greater political recognition for traders and market leaders in the state.

According to her, market women remain an important part of Lagos politics and should not be ignored when political appointments and governance matters are being considered.
