2027: Otti Warns Labour Party Against Internal Crisis, Predicts Victory

Abia State Governor and national leader of the Labour Party, Alex Otti, has urged all candidates who emerged from the party’s primaries to unite with other aspirants and their supporters as preparations begin for the 2027 general elections.

Speaking through the Deputy Governor of Abia State, Ikechukwu Emetu, during the party’s National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja on Thursday, Otti said the Labour Party must remain focused on building a strong and united structure capable of delivering victory at the polls.

He commended party members for the orderly manner in which they conducted themselves during the primaries, describing their conduct as a sign of the party’s growing stability and maturity.

According to him, Nigerians are paying close attention to the Labour Party and expect it to provide responsible leadership, good governance and workable solutions to the country’s challenges. He said the party must not allow internal disagreements arising from the primaries to weaken its chances ahead of the elections.

Otti urged successful candidates to immediately reconnect with fellow aspirants and their supporters, noting that everyone who participated in the contest remains an important part of the party’s future. He said the primary elections have ended and the focus should now shift to strengthening the party and preparing for the larger task ahead.

The governor stressed the need for cooperation among candidates at different levels, including those contesting House of Representatives and Senate seats. He said coordinated campaigns, shared resources and a common message would place the party in a stronger position ahead of the elections.

He maintained that electoral success would not come from individual efforts alone but through a united party structure driven by discipline, teamwork and commitment to the interests of Nigerians.

He urged members to place the party’s broader goals above personal ambitioQns and work toward expanding its influence across the country.

Otti also warned that political opponents could attempt to take advantage of divisions within the party. He therefore advised members to remain focused, strengthen grassroots mobilisation and continue building public trust through their actions and performance.

The Labour Party leader said the party has a responsibility to present itself as a credible alternative for Nigerians seeking competent leadership and effective governance.

He expressed confidence that if members remain united and committed to the party’s vision, the Labour Party would perform strongly in the 2027 general elections.
