#EkitiDecides2026: APC Records Landslide Victory at Oyebanji’s Polling Unit

The All Progressives Congress (APC) recorded a commanding victory at the polling unit of Governor Biodun Oyebanji during Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti State, as results released at the unit showed overwhelming support for the incumbent governor’s party.

The result was announced at Polling Unit 003, Ward 06, Okelele, Ikogosi Ekiti, where Oyebanji cast his vote earlier in the day alongside his wife, Olayemi Oyebanji.
According to the official figures declared at the polling unit, the APC secured 326 votes to emerge far ahead of other parties.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) received two votes, while the Action Democratic Party (ADP) and the African Action Congress (AAC) got one vote each. Three ballots were declared invalid.

The outcome gave the ruling party a comfortable lead in the governor’s polling unit and reflected strong backing from voters in the area.

Oyebanji, who is seeking another term in office on the platform of the APC, arrived at the polling centre around midday to participate in the election. Voting proceeded peacefully at the unit, with residents turning out to exercise their civic responsibility.

After casting his ballot, the governor expressed optimism about the party’s performance across the state. He also commended residents for their participation in the election and urged voters to remain patient despite reports of technical challenges in some locations.

The governor maintained confidence that all eligible voters would eventually have the opportunity to vote, expressing hope that the electoral process would remain orderly until its conclusion.

Saturday’s governorship election was conducted across the 16 local government areas of Ekiti State, with voters choosing who would lead the state for the next four years. Political parties participating in the contest included the APC, ADC, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and several others.

The result from Oyebanji’s polling unit is among the early outcomes emerging from different parts of the state as collation of votes continues. Election observers and political stakeholders are closely monitoring developments to determine the overall outcome of the governorship race.
