Tinubu Backs Wike on FCT Projects
President Bola Tinubu on Thursday praised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for what he described as visible progress in Abuja, saying he has confidence in the minister to continue delivering the promises of the Renewed Hope Agenda to residents of the capital city.

The President made the remarks during the commissioning of the Old Keffi Road from Kado Fish Market to Dei-Dei, an event held as part of activities marking the third anniversary of his administration. Senate President Godswill Akpabio represented him at the ceremony.

Tinubu said his administration rewards performance rather than personal connections, adding that government officials who meet expectations would continue to receive responsibilities, while those who fail to perform would not remain in office. He said Wike had shown commitment by closely monitoring projects, taking decisions without delay and ensuring work was completed on schedule.

The President said the FCT minister had extended development beyond the city centre to districts and area councils, ensuring that more communities benefited from government projects. He added that Abuja had witnessed steady improvements because of Wike’s approach to infrastructure delivery and project supervision.

Tinubu said he trusted the minister to continue carrying out the goals of his administration in the Federal Capital Territory. According to him, the record of completed roads, installed streetlights and projects delivered within deadlines showed that Wike had justified the confidence placed in him.

He also repeated his administration’s commitment to ending the practice of abandoned government projects. Tinubu recalled that when his government came into office, it promised Nigerians that unfinished projects would no longer be left to waste. He said the completion of several infrastructure projects across the country showed that the government was keeping that promise and proving doubters wrong.

The President maintained that ongoing road and infrastructure projects in Abuja reflected his administration’s determination to improve transportation, support economic activities and provide better living conditions for residents across the Federal Capital Territory.
