TCN’s General Manager for Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, said the exercise will allow engineers to carry out preventive maintenance on the 100 Mega Volt Ampere (MVA) 132/33kV power transformer, its auxiliary systems and other related equipment at the substation.

As a result of the maintenance work, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will not be able to receive bulk electricity from the transmission network for supply to customers in the affected locations during the period.

Communities expected to experience the temporary outage include Mpape, Maitama, Jahi, Life Camp, Kado Fish Market, Idu-Karmo and neighbouring areas.

TCN appealed to residents and businesses in the affected communities for understanding, expressing regret over the inconvenience the planned interruption may cause.

The company explained that routine maintenance remains necessary to ensure that transmission equipment continues to operate efficiently and provide reliable electricity supply after the work is completed.
